Abdominoplasty question

I had an abdominoplasty 4 weeks ago.  I'm very pleased with the result so far and have no problems, just something thats a bit odd.  I'm told that I should expect total numbness on and around the scar area for many months until the nerves grow back.  Not only have I got no numbness whatsoever, even on the actual scarline itself, but the skin above the wound still appears to have the nerves attached that it had before it was pulled down, resulting in the feeling that I am touching areas much higher up my stomach than they actually are!  If I run my finger from just below the scar upwards over it to the skin above, it feels as though I am missing about 4 inches of area, which is exactly the case - I just didn't expect to be able to feel it!!!  Has anybody else experienced this, or am I just odd???  Thanks.
