Depends how strong it is. My nan is from Belfast and her accent was strong. My Grandad was from Donegal, I know not technically NI but still have the accent but softer....until he started shouting...

Horrible accent reminds of of that awful Ian Paisley. The sexiest accent has to be Richard Burton reading' Under Milk Wood with a beautiful welsh lilt, or Antony Hopkins.

One of the newsreaders on R4 has a Northern Irish accent - I wince, I'm afraid. Sometimes I have to have a 're-run' in my head of what she has said in order to make sense of it. I like it that we are not all 'received English' these days, but that one I can't like.

The "British" or "English" accent has just been voted as the sexiest here in the U.S.

Problem is, no one defines what those are. To my tin ear, some Brit accents resemble Aussie's more than others, although I can usually detect the accents of our Irish visitors.

The other problem in defining accents is equivalent to one decribing the softly slurred southern Georgia or Alabama accent as a "Southern" accent alongside one from say, Texas. Most here in the U.S. can define a regional accent fairly easily...
