How do you get little white lumps on your lower eyelid, between the lashes? I think they are fatty and if you puncture them carefully with a needle, they do disperse. But what starts them in the first place?

Do you mean one OR many?

If you mean many at the same time, then they are called milia, not serious and the cause is unknown.....at least by me.

Chalazion mainly, if not always affects the upper eyelid and not the lower lid.

So...I would say...MILIA...........Google it if need be.
Hi Lyn,

Speaking from experience, when you are in the shower or are washing your face massage your lower and upper eyelids towards your eye. Do this religiously and hopefully the ducts in the eyelids will unblock themselves and you shouldn't have any more problems. Please do not use a needle anywhere near your eyes.

You may need to do this for quite some time and if you are prone to oily skin I would suggest you do this on a permanent basis. Before anyone wades in saying don't mess with your eyes, I was told to do this by Mr Watt an eye specialist in the eye clinic at Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral.

Thanks all
Use a rough wash cloth and wash the eyes daily, scrubbing the lid areas using a baby soap. We use Johnson's here in the U.S.
