My adult son has always worn his shoes away on the inside of the heels, he used to have inserts made for them when he was small but obviously they haven.'t worked.  I have been told you can get orthotic insoles for shoes to stop this happening,  does anyone know where you can obtain them.  Thanks.

Boots sell medial arch supports, or you can go to a private physiotherapy clinic and have some made to measure. If your son has flat feet and they cause him pain then he should be able to bet some from orthopeadic outpatients  at your hospital, get referred by your GP.

You must get them custom made if he has a serious pronantion problem (which is what it sounds like).

I got an off the shelf pair from a private podiatrist, there were custom fit ones but i didn't need them, and with the consulation (video of me walking on a treadmill to show she wasn't making it up) and the insoles it was about 100.  After a few months of wearing them my feet now fall straight and as my muscles have been trained i don't need to wear them so much now.
