Has anyone tried the Philips Lumea hair removal system? I'm thinking of buying it but at nearly £300 I'd like to know if anyone would recommend it.

I tried laser hair removal several years ago when the treatment was available at Boots and it wasn't exactly pain free but results were good for a long while.

Also, what's the difference between the Lumea and Lumea Precision Plus? I've read both product details on the Boots website and I can't actually see the difference.

I bought a Rio scanning machine which sells at £155 with my last clubcard tokens. Like you the pain problem is putting me off.

I think that it is a brilliant treatment too, but it hurts.

I've had a look at the Amazon reviews for the Rio scanning and it seems like a mixed bag and there is a confusing bit on Amazon which says "unlike home use IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) the results of laser hair treatment are permanent". I thought Rio was a laser hair removal treatment. Or am I reading it wrong :0/

light filtering function makes them different to normal lasers ?
