Is this possible? I started using a new hand cream a few weeks ago,and have noticed the palms of my hands feel drier.

Hi Pastafreak - it is possible that the handcream you are using has a high percentage of glycerine or propylene glycol in it. Glycerine is a humectant and actually draws moisture into itself (rather than release it into your skin), while PG is a known sensitiser in some people, particularly if it is present in high concentrations. If you do have very dry skin, try applying a simple aqueous cream-type product and wearing gloves at night for a few nights; you should notice an improvement then. Hope this helps.
Yes - some creams or body rubs I've tried dry my skin.
I find the cream used by Norwegian fishermen very drying to my hands. I use bio oil on mine.
Try burts bees almond milk hand cream, in the glass jar, it smells delicious and is a heavy balm protection. Mmmm
I find L'Occitane hand cream is the best.
