Depends upon the type of ankle fracture and if it was pinned or not.
The most simple of fractures of the ankle should take about 4 months after plaster removal to be "back to normal."

However, if it was more complicated and a pin inserted then we may well be looking at years rather than months.
Ah! just looked at your profile.....it was a spiral fracture of the fibula........should be back to normal by the end of the summer......this summer ;-)
I badly fractured my ankle 5 years ago and still have pain daily. Equally I know people who were literally up and running after a couple of months. People heal at different rates and some people like myself are just damn unlucky. I hope it starts to ease soon for you and you heal quick. Keep following the exercises and advice of your consultant.

Patience is key.
