quick question... family member in Paris has sore back (not for the first time, but heat wraps and Nurofen helped previously at home). What are the alternatives to Nurofen or Ibuprofen available over the counter, any other advice appreciated. Otherwise how much is a visit to a GP (has European health card). Thanks

My GP in France charges 20 euros a visit + prescription charges at the pharmacie. This should be reclaimable if you relative gets the paperwork from the GP aand the pharmacist.
Alternatively the pharmacist should have a little book that gives equivalent drugs so if your relative goes to a pharmacie with an Ibuprofen packet or the name written down they should be able to match it.
(Excuse my sticky keyboard...)

Thank you for that, much appreciated.
He should be able to buy it in the pharmacy.
J'ai besoin de l'ibuprofène.
'Spedifen' apparently...
A French pharmacist will know what ibuprofen is.
just ask for an anti inflammatory drug
Looking further it seems that 'Nurofen' is used as a brand name in France anyway.
