One thing I don't miss is having to go and find a tobacconist's on a Sunday or bank holiday open. I could drive for miles.... that added to the bill!! Best thing I did health wise too.
Sandy, I stopped smoking 14 months ago after smoking 20 a day for sixty years.
I still can't believed it because I tried so many times before. It's a bit late for me health wise
as I already have COPD caused by smoking .At least I am not letting it get worse.
Where I am really feeling the benefit if financial. I was spending almost £50 a week which is quite substantial coming from a pension.
I would say to any smoker you CAN stop. If I can do it anyone can.
Nearly 40 years for me. Non smoker I'm really proud of is my sister, who after spending nearly fifty years smoking like a chimney announced on the birth of her great grand daughter four years ago that "nobody is smoking any where near that baby and that incudes me" and literally stopped overnight.
And yes craft, I am. My son even more so, having seen his Nan and Grandad die of lung cancer within 5 years of each other.
Me? I'd make smoking whilst pregnant an offence!
