Well five months has passed and she has had the pain again off and on. Today it seemed a lot worse. my grandaughter said she felt dizzy, tummy hurt around bellybutton area, also mentions she keeps having a feeling she couldnt breath. plus tingle in her arm included. Her mum took her to doctors, he couldnt find any reason for the pain, prescribed antibiotics but sent her to hospital for xray. The doctor at hospital looked at it and said he couldnt see anything wrong, no sign of a chest infection either. So back to square one, what could this be do you think with all your experience.? many thanks Brenda x

At age 10 she is most probably starting puberty, the tummy pains could be due to hormones, which in turn could be causing her anxiety symptoms.
Another thought, could be a stomach migraine.
It needs more investigation - ask your GP to refer her to a suitable specialist.
Well clearly, the appendix was not the seat of her problems.

Last june, the diagnosis was quite a mystery and i did suggest one of mesenteric adenitis (inflamed lymph nodes) or a urinary tract infection. however investigations showed that it was a lung infection which eventually settled on antibiotics.

Yes......back to square one......my initial diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis still stands and Fusion's diagnosis of abdominal migraine is also in the frame.

I cannot think of anything "life threatening."
P.S What was the result of your X-Ray after slipping in the shower?

Thankyou everyone for your replies.
sqad,my results are not back yet have to phone monday. but to be honest I still think the pain was bruised muscles. But why it really hurt when doctor touched one of my discs I do not know. Thankyou for asking.! To be honest I wish I hadnt gone to doctor in the first place as he had a full blood test done which came back as underactive thyroid was a lot lower, so have been put on higher dose. Blood test showed something wrong with my white blood cells ..plus my cholesterol was higher. So next month more blood tests.
Thankyou about granddaughter. I did wonder if it was mesenteric adenitis as you said before. But never knew you could get abdominal migraine.? Am very interested and will look it up. Many thanks again. Brenda x
