I dont know how it relates to the radio therapy but I have had an ingrowing hair in an unfortunate place. Just some cotton wool soaked in hot water pressed on to area for a few minutes should help bring it out. I could never find the ingrowing hair, just the yucky stuff that comes out - lovely!!

Can you be more specific concerning this "delicate place" and for what did she have radiotherapy?

She has had treatment all year for small cell lung cancer. About six weeks ago she had three weeks of radiotherapy, before that chemotherapy. She says she has had one before and went to Dr and was given antibiotics. She`s on medication now. I suggested a hot poultice to draw it out but I have just seen other suggestions on AB. I thought we would try some `self help. It`s in the groin area.`
my ex-husband had one of these, he had it cut out as it was quite angry and swollen. It's called a pilonodal sinus - worth looking up on t'internet.
OK..thanks...that is very helpful.
She can pull it out with tweezers OR cotton wool soaked in hot (not boiling) water, squeeze out excess water and then with the cotton wool, grab the hair and pull.
boxy...NO it is not a Pilonidal sinus.
It's not? - Oh - OK - that's what my ex was told it was, ingrowing hair forming a sinus which became infected. His was in a delicate place, too.....
Those are usually above the anus Boxy.
ah - thanks mamya - yes, that's where his was. I thought it applied to anything similar....
