I've just bought one of these - really pleased with it. They need no fat once you've done the initial "seasoning" - I made a good mushroom omelette and didn't even use spray oil. Three sizes - smallest one £20

This is very interesting to hear, I have recently bought another non stick pan, and once again, it is pretty rubbish, needing oil to be used . I intend now to take a look at the pros and cons of these, and will probably buy one if the reviews are all saying such good things.
what make did you get? What is the price of the large pan?

The make is Ceracraft and it is 20cms. From memory I think the other prices were £30 and£40 but I could be wrong on that. I hadn't read any reviews - it was an impulse buy in Wilkinsons because my OH had seen an ad about them. Perhaps Ceracraft have a website. I am certainly surprised at how good mine is and also it just needed a quick rinse and wipe to clean.
That's good to know Rosie. They're doing them in Asda too and yesterday I stood for ten minutes deliberating over buying one, deciding not too because I hadn't heard if they were any good. Thanks for the recommendation - I'll go back and get one now!
I have seen them on tv too Rosie, thanks for giving your opinion. I may well put one on my wish list !
JML do nice ceramic pans (and in nice colours too!). I have been deliberating over getting one. Think I'll have another look when in Asda tomorrow
Are the ceramic pans heavy?
Seen them on the shopping channels. Hope they last for you. I'm always a little cautious re JML stuff. Not sure why, they just give that impression.
I have the JML Cerecraft ones and they are pretty good. I did have a cheaper set from Amazon (can't remember the make) and they were rubbish. I've had them a while now and they still work well.

Woofgang - no not heavy - I'm quite ancient and don't find them so.!

The big disadvantage of these is....the non-stick properties don't last that long, apparently.

you may be right gingejbee - I think I'll try to remember to season it regularly. Another thing to remember!
...and, as with all non-stick surfaces, don't use at highest temperatures. All non-stick surfaces last longer if used at low and medium heat and (whatever the makers say) non-metallic utensils are best to use.
