What is VBL?

My current employer requires that I have some programming skills eg VBL

what is VBL. Could you recommend anything else that I can learn?

VB is usually Visual Basic. VBA is Visual Basic for Applications (like Access, Word, Excel etc). VBL... not sure. Never come across it. Recommend learning VB.NET as this is the way VBA will be going.

it depends what your current employer is... what do they do?

VB is a terrible language. learn something good like C# or (if cross-platform is really inportant), java.

There isn't much differentiating VB.Net from C#. There's a lot of stigma associated with VB from when VB really did suck but it's on a pretty level playing field now. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and it is down to the individual coder which they are happier with.

To label one better than the other would be like saying Roger Waters is better than Pink Floyd ;o).
