Hi,

I have recently given birth to my second baby and the strangest feeling is happeing to me. On my scalp it feels (girls will understand) like I have just had my hair up all day and when you take it out your head is really sensitive and aches a bit. I get this feeling all the time and sometimes it can be painful to touch & very uncomfortable. I have spoke to a few Hairdressers and they have no ideas.. Any suggestions form anyone out there? If so, any suggestion on how to fix it?

I think you should see your doctor as things like shingles can cause pain in your scalp but there are other things as well.  The flippant side of me says stop putting your hair up but seriously I think you should at least mention it to your doctor.
Agree with the previous respondent - you need to see a doctor. I certainly don't have any medical training so feel free to take this with a pinch of salt, but it *could* definitely be the onset of shingles. Hopefully it's something much more benign.
my husband's shingles started in this way, but since you mention the birth of a baby, I wonder whether it might be a pinched nerve? the doc will know tho!
I have suffered exactly the same things when I have had sinus infections or very bad colds.  Often it only happens on one side.  It has never lasted for more than a few days.

Im like FP. I have sinus probs and whenever they play up my hair feels as if its being pulled out from the roots thus leaving my scalp very tender and sore. l've had this for approx 20 years but like the sinus probs it comes and goes.

Just a thought after reading Fina's reply.  Sinus problems are often caused by hormones released by pregnancy and childbirth.  This is a known fact.    Therefore, I would assume that this could be the cause of your problems Belinda.  Do check it out with the doctor, but personally I wouldn't worry too much.
