I have been referred for Megapulse- but I don't know what it is really, and can't find any explanation online. I know it is like ultrasound, but I don't know what that is either!!

Also, years ago when I had a similar back problem, I had Manipulation under anasthetic. I also, have no idea exactly what this means, and what they DID to me under anasthetic!!

Can anyone shed any light??!!

regarding "Megapulse"

megapulse is......
"A physiotherapy electrical treatment, which uses electromagnetic energy, usually administered in pulsed form to avoid heating the tissue."

"manipulation under anesthetic" is usually where the body joints/muscles are moved in such a way that the patient cannot do by themselves and would be very uncomfortable or painful. also the anasthetic helps the muscles to be totally relaxed both prior to and during this treatment enabling the physiotherapist to fully manuever the intended area of treatment.
