I'm due to go for the above this week & the letter that came with the appt said to avoid tea, coffee, cola, hot chocolate/bars and any medication containing caffeine. I'm due to go out for a meal with friends the evening before, do you think I'll be ok to have a glass of wine? tia

I would have thought so but I'm no expert.
I am guessing that the caffeine related drinks are due to caffeine being a stimulant and the consequent risk of a false reading. If wine was not mentioned then, in moderation, I'm sure it will be fine.
I wouldn't but only because you will have probably sedation for the procedure
also one glass tends to lead to another and these days glasses are larger than they used to be...
Give the dept a call and ask...I'd give the alcohol a miss.
I am sure a glass of wine the night before a scan will do no harm at all.....one glass;-)
I had that a few month ago,the only avoidance with the above was for the same day, usually stipulates what you can and cannot have, and from what time.
