I know that nothing will reassure you (I don't mean that in a nasty way) but your anxiety might be what is making you ill.

I take Metformin and have no problem with it. Just try and calm down. When do you go back to see your GP? Maybe something that he can give you to calm you down until the Citalopram starts to work.

do you take 2 at once?
I've been taken Metformin (500mg) once a day for about a fortnight and luckily have not had any side effects, the doc told me that most people had no problems at all. If you're worried and still feel the same tomorrow call the doc, and see what he says after all that's there job.
Yes - two at night
I take 6 metformin a day (500mg each tablet)

Two in the morning, Two at lunch and two in the evening....and i always take them with food.

No probs here and my glucose results from a fasting blood test this week were 50 (type 2 is usually diagnosed at 48 according to the doc) so something's working.
