Toner?

I have only ever used Baby lotion on my skin, as it is very sensitive. However now that I'm getting on (!) I would like to maybe do the cleanse, tone bit as well! I can't use water on my skin as it dries it out. (My skin is of the eczema-type, not that you'd notice, but it has that quality).

Does anyone know of any suitable products?

THANKS

Nivea makes a nice gentle toner that really cleans excess dirt and grime...
Cleansers by Lancome or Estee Lauder are exceptionally gentle, but I must admit lately I've been very lazy and use the Simple facial cleansing pads - which work a treat on my own highly  sensitive skin. By the way Scarlett you don't need a toner, it's a selling ploy and is totally unnecessary. I was told this years ago by a Beauty Therapist - and it's true.
Scarlett,I had been having trouble with  a patch of skin on my face.and rough skin on my arms and legs.I stopped using the cleansers etc.and used baby lotion which I hadn't used for years.Everything has cleared up,and I wouldn't think of using anything else now.

Have a look at the products at the following:

http://www.greenpeople.co.uk/

The founder of this company started out by making products for her daughter who suffered from eczema and now they produce a wide range of products - skin care, shampoo, baby products, sun cream, household etc etc.

I use a lot of their skincare products including cleanser, toner and moisturiser and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Unlike Cetti, my friend who is a beauty therapist has always stressed the importance of toner!

i agree with Cetti that the simple range is very good, I use their cleansing lotion (in a white bottle) and revitalising toner (in green).  I find I do need to use toner - if I just wipe off the cleanser my face is greasy and when I'm forced to use water instead, my skin gets tight and uncomfortable.  A quick tip - avoid any toners with alcohol in, this will really dry out the skin.

I only do the cleanse/tone thing at night, in the morning I just wash my face in the shower.

But if the baby lotion is working for you, then why change?!  I guess you can always go back to it!

Wich hazel is natural toner and I get a big bottle from the chemist and put some in a smaller bottle, then add in a few drops of essential oil of lavender and teatree, or even rose and frankincense (both good for "mature" skin).  I also get moisturiser with the least amount of chemicals in it and again, add some essential oils.

With the withchazel. I also get some rosewater and add it together.

I use philosophy 'purity made simple'. It is so gentle and cleanses/tones/etc in one easy step. Can be used as a face wash or simply removed with cotton wool. Can't recommend it highly enough. This bottle at 17 has lasted me 18 months
