I have no idea what I have done but I am in a lot of pain I have severe backache going down both my legs I have taken painkillers and diazepam but still in a lot of pain. My mother thinks it is sciatica but I am only 41 and I cant think what I could have done to cause this.

sounds like it could be....but you can get it from any age, without doing something 'silly' to cause it. i ripped a muscle in my back bending down to pick my keys off the floor 8 weeks ago - and i am still in agony. go to your drs tomorrow x
Sciatica is not age related, if it going down your legs that would be my guess as well, we often have no idea what we have done to cause these problems, not always obvious at the time. The worst pain I had in my neck and back that gave me agony for 18 months was caused when I turned my head awkwardly while cleaning my teeth.
a couple of years ago i pulled my back just getting out of a chair awkwardly, ended up with it going into spasm and ever since then i have had trouble. I get a touch of sciatica pain in my bum cheek and down the leg. Also have numbness down the same leg when i lay down. Im 26 and i feel like an old woman. Always have some kind of muscular aches and pains.
Go to the doc, don't self-diagnose!
