Ps - anyone see Moone Boy, he has an imaginary friend, made me wish I had one too.
A sociable child,I had three, starting with one and adding two more to make a trio of invisibles. What happened to them? My mother told me that she hadn't heard me talk to them lately, and I explained they'd all died in accidents, one, she recalled, being killed by a bus, but I don't recall what she reported as my account of the other fatalities.

sherrardk, it seems so obvious to an outsider, but did you ask why Mrs Jenkins could only be seen on roofs?

FredPuli43, it might seem obvious now, but did you ever question yourself about whether the people were real and whether you really believed they died?
i don't have an invisible friend
yes you do

headwreck, how did they disappear? Did they give you notice? Was it that they suddenly stopped being there? Did they explain to you why they could no longer be there?
so i do
Yes I did. Her name was Tilly. I remember one day my mum was taking me into town and I asked Tilly if she was coming too she just shook her head and disappeared from the feet up and I never saw her again. Sometimes of a morning I used to stand outside my then toddler son's room I'd hear him chuntering away and giggle I'd go in and often he'd be holding up some toy to nobody I could see!

Seems ages ago now. She was on the roof, boy was happy about it, decided not to go on about it too much (he was really little as he was the only child at the time, 3 1/2 years old tops). We used to go along with it as she seemed so real to him. I will have to ask the now 12 year old if he remembers her.

Would love to know from the people who've had invisible friends whether they believe they were real (ie. physical beings) or imaginary (ie. visions or hallucinations).
Penny may well have been real. On a slightly different note...I think....Twenty odd years ago when daughter was about eight we were staying in our old house in Kerry. Middle of the night daughter started screaming for me. She had seen a lady in a long white dress in her room. Did all the usual bad dream stuff and settled her but she was adamant she had seen the lady.
Last Friday I was introduced to the man who now lives in our old house. During the chat he asked me if I had ever seen or known of anyone who had seen a lady dressed in white in the back bedroom...daughter's old room.
plowter, the people were real enough to me, but plainly my childish mind developed and they disappeared from my reality. When my mother asked about them, and I no longer had them in my world, I just came up with an explanation which satisfied my older mind ; they'd been killed.
My Mum told me my younger brother had an invisible vacuum cleaner, he was always plugging it in and vroom vroom vrooming round the carpets .................
My hand's gone up
Back in the day before fridges our meat safe was kept down in the cellar where it was cool. What my Mum didn't know was when she sent me to put the meat away, I fed it to my pet lion, Chunky, who lived down there.
Chunky always hid from everyone else but we were great friends and he loved me because I took him the meat.
I can't remember when he went but I expect it coincided with the time when decent sized beef joints got too expensive for us to buy!
