never heard of temeric. i think you probably needed tumeric. what are you using it in?
I agree with Fluff, I think you wanted turmeric. x
I think it's turmeric. Many TV cooks seem to pronounce this tu-mer-ic, though, without the first R, so maybe that's how the confusion arose.

Hi mccfluff.

I am using it in a vegetable type dish ---paella.
i must have the name wrong and wrote down Temeric as I didnt know how to spell it at the time. Hopefully it is now called Turmeric. x
Question Author
Ah, great, thanks Abers, you have all put me on the right path. x
yup, you've just spelt it wrong :-)
Question Author
Ah bless ya. I hope this dish is worth all the effort, haha.

Thanks again all you abers x
You should really use saffron not Turmeric in Paella, MUCH BETTER
Question Author
really chris? i really wouldnt know the difference, so will keep it in mind!
i bought a small sachet of Turmeric so not happy about wasting it, but maybe it'll be a good idea to check on saffron first before i make the dish tomorrow x

Thanks again for all replies
...pity saffron costs, what, fifty times the price of turmeric. At the very least!
Saffron will add an authentic and distinctive flavour-and colour. Tumeric-though it has certain nutritional value,is usually used more for colour.

BUT, today I must attempt the Cauliflower soup. Wish me luck folks x
(Will give an update, and if I dont --it has turned out awfull) lol
