We know a healthy diet and weight loss through non-impact exercise e.g swimming, cycling etc is key to arthritis prevention and cure.

If you have osteo-arthritis and your hip bone/joint has become calcified and locked, with movement to allow walking but not reach to tie your shoes, put your sock on or cut your toe nails is it possible to gradually attempt with pressure eg yoga to break or reloosen the joint ?

Hip replacement is not recommended because of my age all I can do is change my diet and loose the weight.

I am hoping the new human stem cell trials arthritis reasearch via an injection oftissue from the stomach fat cells injected into the joint to return the joint tissue back to working again will be a success and end the need for joint replacement.

You are talking about quite advanced osteo-arthritis of the hip (calcified and locked) and yet, in your post you haven't mentioned PAIN, so i assume that this is not a significant symptom in you troubles.

It would be a mammoth task to break and/or loosen the strongest joint in the body and within 24 hours it would be fused again, but this time with the addition of pain........quite severe pain.

So forget that.

You need a joint replacement.

Stem cell research is on going but we will not see practical results on OA hip for generations in my opinion.
