Oil of peppermint and peppermint oil are the same, but that's very different from Peppermint essence, and very much stronger. If you want to buy some, the best place is Baldwin's, herbalists, of Walworth Rd near the Elephant & Castle London

BP means British Pharmacopoeia http://ebookee.org/Th...2009-PDF-_351920.html

Peppermint Oil BP means that the peppermint oil in question meets the purity standards of that document.

many thanks johnysid for your reply.
I use essential oil of peppermint for nausea. As long as an essential oil is used with honey and soya milk, it is deemed fine. But this is not correct for all essential oils. And we are talking about one drop at a time.

My GP gave me some tablets called NeoMag (Magnesium Glycerophosphate)Chewable tabs for `The Shakes` and they helped a lot, only they were like chewing chalk, so I gave them one drop of peppermint essence for taste, but after a week my shakes have settled down to a little quiver. Hope that helps.
