Lots of petrol stations in town have closed because they've "run out of petrol". Have they really or are they just trying to stop the panic buying?

Most of them have run out.
Bugger, that means I am going to have to do a full shop tomorrow so I don't have to go out again in the week (no way am I taking the kids on the bus to get the shopping and I only have 1/4 tank of diesel).
But they aren't striking so they should start to refuel now.
That's what is so ridiculous, they are not striking, people are just panicking!

shops don't usually shut their doors to stop people buying things; I'd be surprosed if it was happening now, unless local authorities have ordered them to (to try to stop roads being blocked by queues).
Many have run out, the station near me is really taking the p*ss , they got a delivery this morning but they have put the price up 3p a litre it is now £1.44 a litre for unleaded. They know they will sell it no matter how much they charge.

But they're not getting anymore deliveries til Monday - they say.
I usually wait for the diesel light to come on before I buy anymore (and then I go mad and put £20's worth in), can't risk that at the moment though. Could theoretically manage without the car (won't need to do any mercy dashes to boy #1's school if he is poorly) but might need it for any unforeseen illnesses or hospital trips. Right, better start that flipping shopping list!

Its a world gone mad.
Am I the only one who doesn't check the price?
They wouldn't close (unless police told them) if they had fuel to sell. Miss out on a chance to rake it in? No chance.

Same here Eddie. It was 1.39 at my local on Monday, needed some today and it was 1.44.
I only looked today ummmm because I happened to notice the price on Monday and wanted to see if it had gone up.
I don't usually check the price either, I got super unleaded yesterday that I've never bought before and I've no idea how much more expensive it was.

big board outside our local pub.
" beer shortage imminent, come and drink it now before we run out".

Never jno...but I don't drive enough to care.
The sky is falling, official!
Most cpetrol stations have run out around her although I did see a tanker arriving at Adsa this morning.

BP wanted £148.9 for the petrol they had left and 150.9 diesel !

I was lucky enough to fill up at lunchtime at a lesser used garage with no queue and at 139.9 petrol and 142.9 deisel. They will have run out by now.
