The worst DJ on radio 2, followed closely by Johnny Walker. (not to mention Richard Allinson and Vanessa Feltz and Anneka Rice will find herself on that list if she doesn't improve soon!)
quizzywig - thanks for listing my own pet hates - saves me the trouble.
I used to like SW, but he has gone so far up himself, it's not longer evern ironic - why 'The Big Show' - when Chris Evans has far superior listening figures?
He lhas always sung along with songs, or cut the ends off, Julie Burchill once opined that he was a one-man anti-piracy brigade. back in the days when we all taped songs off the wireless.
Walker and Alinson are utterly devoid of anything approaching a personality, not heard Ms. Rice yet, so can't comment, but hardly rushing to tuen in.
And can i have a quick shot at Radio Stoke's Paula White and Amy Clewes - both are 'local characters' and both of them adopt voices totally alien to standard speech patterns when they appear on air.

Steve [I'm always] Wright is like a lot of other presenters, they love the sound of their own voice and name. I don't believe people sending in request really think it's the best show on the radio but they've come to realise that by saying it is there's a much better chance of getting their request played. Does he really need to say "dear Steve" every time ? of course not, it's to boost his own ego. Mind you, it doesn't need much boosting, he already thinks he is a good singer and mimic.I no longer listen to him and Jeremy Vine is being switched off more and more,as well.
Andy, I've noticed that at the moment Radio 2 is actually advertising his show with clips of him singing (!) along with the music - the artistes should sue. I'd also like to have a quick shot at Lynne Parsons who seems also to be on commercial radio, and of course Richard Madeley who stood in for Chris Evans on Monday. I thought he was going to be there all week, so didn't bother to tune in til Mr Q informed me that Chris had come back.
Yep - again we are in agreement Q - I don't understand how the BBC can employ 'personalities' who don't have one, and are stratospherically irritating as well!
Madeley is a buffoon, and has someone told him to stop harping on about Chloe? As a dad of daughters, of course, all my daughters are gorgeous, but i appreciate that the rest of the world may not view them as I do.
Hey Richard - for the record - Chloe has nice legs and a big nose, and she really isn't all that, so dial it down withe adoration on the radio!

For some time now I've been switching over to radio 5 at 2pm. Much better!
Who is that woman they often have on SW show.. Janey something? Holier than thou, up her own backside, arrogant. Where do they get these people from and why do they feel the need to inflict them on the rest of us. Bet she thinks her sh1t don't stink.

Of course you dare Lottie - I appreciate that RM is popular - he wouldn't be CE's main stand-in if he wasn't- he just doesn't do it for me, but then I like CE.
Interesting who we have always managed to disagree with utter cordiality and mutual respect - do you think we can impart that ability to any other users on the AB, especially on the 'News' section?

I dont mind Steve Wright but i agree he does seem to have got more annoying and perhaps isnt worthy anymore of holding the afternoon slot? Along with his singing over records he is also guilty of often not saying who the artist and track were, annoying when he plays a new song that i like! Not as bad as Chris Tarrant who played some cracking tracks the other week only to talk over the big guitar solo's, Comfortably Numb and Freebird should not be interupted ever!
I like the same music as SW but can't stand him. So; I just don't listen to his drivel, tune him out! Chris Tarrant is just as bad but his choices of music are not mine so when he stands in I just don't listen to the show at all.
And Sunday at 1pm means switching off as 'EP' really gets on my tripe, especially her silly false laugh!
