hello, I have a microwave and toaster in the office if I want to cook an egg in the microwave do I need one of those mavewave egg poachers (plastic things) or can I just cook an egg in anything like on a plate or in a cup? Maybe I should just pierce the yoke to stop it exploding... I think thats what you had to do when I used the plastic poacher as a kid.

Any thoughts please, thank you

Not tried it but I'd suspect the white and yellow may cook at different rates. It'd cost you just one egg to try it though ;-)
Ah poaching, that's cheating.
Scrambled works well in a microwave too.

great thanks yummy
About 25-30 years ago I was parked in a truck on Charnock Richards services on the M6 when all of a sudden there was a huge bang and the windows of the police station broke. When everybody got to it, there was a somewhat shamefaced bobby covered in egg. Sure enough, he'd put one into the microwave and cooked it for five minutes. When he tapped it with his spoon.....bang!!!
