Painful soles of feet!

I have had painful soles of feet for several years now and have no idea why. They fizz and throb whether I walk or not. Sometimes they are too painful to stand up on. I have tried insoles/insteps/proper shoes/thick soled trainers to no avail. I don't know if it's linked with medication- I take Omeprazole 20mg once a day and asthma inhalers. I also have slipped discs and wonder if it could be a back-related problem? Any ideas gratefully received!

Have you mentioned this to the doctor? I would - the health of different parts of your feet often reflects the condition of other parts of your body.
"Soles" of your feet or the "balls" of your feet?
Wear Crocs, I had the same problem, genuine Crocs alleviated the problem within a week.

Crocs now do an amazing range of very traditional footwear.

The bits which touch the floor. The weight bearing parts. Yes, I am overweight... I know this won't help. I have mentioned it to various docs but no advice or help other than refer to Podiatrist which made me very hard insteps which really made my feet hurt more!
Google "Morton's metatarsalgia"......

Your problem is not related to you're back problem or medication.
could it be some arthritis looming....
or maybe a nerve spur? This may need removing??

Well I do already have arthritis in my joints but I didn't know that would cause these symptoms on the soles of my feet? ie- both feet equally?
I've found two things help immensly re foot pain, shoes with thick soles and regular moisturising with a cream rub.
A night or two off the red wine seems to make a difference too but I'm in denial about that. :)
