If it's any help, I was a 34A at 16, and a year later had "blossomed" (?) to a 36D - no idea where they came from! I'm sure that any tablets claiming to increase bust size are a gimmic and would discourage her from trying them. Does she swim at all? Swimming doesn't increase bust size per se, but does strengthen the pectorial muscles (especially breast stroke) which can "help". I do sympathise with your daughter as I was distraught too at the thought of being "flat chested". Also, I know it may sound like a fob off, but I sometimes wish I was smaller on top so that I could wear all the strappy tops that are in fashion at the moment - something I wouldn't do, even with a strapless bra! Hope this helps a little xx
No no - no tablets at her age.  Buy her some "chicken fillets" which fit into bras.
16 is still young. Persuade her to wait another 2 years, and take it from there.
It would be better for her to visit a GP as if the tablets mentioned DO work they will be hormonal. When I was younger I did worry about boob size, right up to my 30s.  It's not fair especially when one thinks of the women over-endowed who want a breast reduction! Think of all the bachache and the rather matronly look one gets as one gets older.  Also, after children any drooping boobs would be more noticeable.  Now I'm much older I am pleased that I don't suffer these things because of having big boobs.  However, it does't help a youngster who desperately wants to feel attratractive. Women get the wrong idea early on.  I call it body tyranny because in the end we can get obsessed by one thing to the point where other good things about us are overlooked.  What about her start saving for a boob job?  By the time she gets enough money it mightn't matter and of course she would have more experience of the world - know how lucky she is to be young and whole.

Poor thing, I totally sympathise, like Sasha13 I became rather busty very quickly between 17-18.  Definately no tablets - they won't work to a huge degree and although she feels at the older end of puberty, she still has 2-3 more years of growing ahead of her.

Take alook at yourself size wise and any female relations on her fathers side, that will give you an idea how well endowed she *could* be.  If you have any worrys of course talk to your GP.

I have to say, 'chicken fillets' may make her feel better, but if they're too obvious she leaves herself open to comments from her peers, especially at school if they appear over night.  It's just something to consider, by trying to hide the 'problem' you might draw more attention to it. Wish her luck from me. xx

I write with a certain amount of trepidation, but I'd just, as a chap, like to say how much I adore small breasts. I'm not being frivolous, just letting your girl know that small is beautiful.
the French, allegedly, say the best size is just big enough to fill a champagne glass (or sometimes 'de quoi remplir le main d'un honnete homme'). The best - but much the hardest - thing would be to persuade your daughter that size isn't everything.
take her to get measured, to make sure she's definitely wearing the right size. i'd be very wary of these tablets. encourage her to wait a couple of years, because i know how superficial girls are about some things at that age but it'll quickly change - i don't turn 18 for another 6 weeks but amongst my friends nobody worries about that sort of thing anymore. i hope you manage to put her mind at ease.
My answer was banned lord knows why.  I said def no pills - try some "chicken fillets" to pad out the bra. I had no boobs for ages and now am 40D so watch it!!!!
Most "Legs men" wouldn't look twice at the boob area.
I am slightly larger than SBH and the only problems I have is when I am jogging. I would recommend the swimming technique also, seemed to bring me up by about a size. I was 36A until 15 and then...whoosh, out of nowhere. Tell her to wait a while first.
Tell your daughter not to change! She is her own person and she shouldn't feel the need to change her body. What's to blame? It's the media making women think that they must have large breats, beautiful bodies! Don't change who you are because of a stupid commercial!

Just to say, I have the chicken fillets, but only because I bought them at a stage when I already had a boyfriend who knew what I really looked like.  Encouraging your daughter to rely on them will just emphasise that there is something wrong with her - which there isn't.  I try to only wear mine occasionally, but they become remarkably addictive.  Wearing them on a first date for example, would just make me fear that the guy would run off when he learned the "truth".  I feel it would be deceiving the guy, and myself.

I'm 22 now and still a 34B and judging by my Mum and my late Nana, I am unlikely to do any blossoming.  However, I try to remember I'd got 33" legs and a size 10 waist - many girls with big boobs would kill to be slim, or perhaps (unlike me) very pretty in the face like your daughter probably is!  You may not like her wearing it, but I believe there is a T-shirt for sale online (my god I want one!) that says:

FRONT:  Who needs big boobs..

BACK: When you've got an arse like this!?

That's the sentiment she needs.  I know you know that anyway - you're her mum and I'm only 22 so not really in a place to advise you.  It's just I'm of the "small but perfectly formed" lot, and I can reassure you that eventually she'll find other bits of herself to love, and someone to find her smaller boobs really great, and she'll feel great!

I'm 19 and she's still bigger than me...

I've also considered the tablets and would be intrigued to hear of any success stories!

I would also recommned your daughter wait until she is about 19/20, I kept growing til then, although mine are only a 34B.  Your daughters boobs may not even grow much bigger by then, but big boobs aren't everything (who wants men to talk to your chest, or to get black eyes when out jogging?!)  Small breasted people are lucky to be able to get away with skimpy delicate clothing, and go bra-less under skinny t-shirts etc. so there is a good side to not having big boobs.  Everyone has something about them they don't like, but I bet your daughter has some great assets, and not necessarily all physical, maybe she can try and focus on what she has got that she likes, and that others envy?  Might make her feel a bit better. I would definitely say NO to tablets, chicken fillets and breat implants, and YES to the good old Wonderbra!   Jet.

thanks very much to you all, i'm going to sit her down to read all your answers!
My daughter was a 32aa until she was 21, when she suddenly grew to a 34b. she used to wear padded bras etc, but now has no need for them. Give her a few more years, as my daughter will say miracles do happen!!!!

I feel that this is all down to peer pressure & it just aint fair. Each person,be they male or female,is an individual. Please do not even consider the "enlargement tablets" for your daughter. By the way i am a 38 year old male,i am the very proud father of 3 beautiful daughters aged between 4 & 9. I would definately go along with ACW,get THAT tee shirt! In closing i would just reassure your daughter by saying that she still has at least 3-4 years of growing still to do. Do not panic.

I think Freud said that psychology wasn't about ttrying to eradicate what one saw as personal drawbacks bu8t rather about trying to reach an accord with them.

In short lack of breast size is not making your daughter unhappy, it's the attitude of herself and others.

In this (albeit small) survey nobody thinks small breasts are a problems.

Pills seem too drastic when maybe a boost in self-esteem would help.

One source for the tshirt ACW mentions is tshirthell.com. Be prepared for adult content.
