In my memory bank, I remember reading where medicine industry has the Beatles to thank for developing an important medical equipment......was it a MRI scanner, or ultra sound? They did it for humanity with the oodles of money that was coming their way. Just wondering.

So, it wasn't actually the Beatles, it was their music company?
It seems so.
Without money from Beatles sales, they probably would not have had the resources:-

"Having sold 200 million of the Fab Four’s singles, (at seven inches, almost enough vinyl to stretch the length of the equator) the Beatles’ record company, EMI, was able to fund Hounsfield to do his research and the scanner was ready be used in hospitals in the 1970’s. "

Thank you everyone for your answers! I appreciate it.

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and ultrasound both are types of medical imaging helps in providing perfect visual inside of the body. Not only these but there are many alike medical imaging devices whose example is available at http://www.ilexmedical.com/products.php?act=cat that are out there which become very helpful for doctors to monitor and diagnose problems easily. They both work in different ways but have number of similarities like both provide still and moving pictures of internal body, both uses radiation technique and helps in multiple imaging studies.
