You should absolutely visit your doctor.  To many serious problems have not so serios symptoms.  Becoming irregularly irregular, should be investigated by a MD.

where you regular anyway ie. 28 days, and your the same age as me an i've got exams soon so it could be because ur stressed.  and also i know it horrible but do you have any pain or discharge??

Defo go to your Dr. If your weight has slipped a little, then your periods do get affected & from stress also like the others say. It's a sign that you should always investigate because it could be linked to so many (usually very minor) things. Make an appointment!

You could ring NHS direct - on 0845 46 47.  They will ask you a few details and then a nurse will call you back (you can leave a mobile number).  They will probably advise you to go to your GP though.  You can definitely INSIST upon seeing a female doc/nurse.  And try not to worry - they will almost certainly be really nice about it - they're used to dealing with it all the time.  I know it's easy to say "don't be embarassed", but you just have to try to grin and bear it.

(If it makes you feel better, I worked last night at a place where they lock your bag away til the end of the shift.  I then had to ask the supervisor [in front of everyone] to let me into my bag.  She said "no".  I said, "really - I need to get in there".  "Why?" she responded.  "Tampons" I said quite loudly.  She was more embarrased than me!)  My point is - every girl has to deal with them, so it doesn't make you wierd.  And most girls have to worry about missing periods at least once in their lives - so that's nothing wierd either.

Sorry to ramble!  Good luck!

Visit a Kinesiologist.  They will be able to tell you what is causing such irregularity.  If it's an emotional issue that's causing the problem, the GP will not see it.  You can contact the Kinesiology Federation for a therapist in your area.
