Has anybody been on this diet and if so how long did it take to loose a stone? and can you eat as much fatty foods as you like and still not put a pound on?

google on "atkins" for the answers
Depends on your current weight but assuming you're not starting from 6 stone, a strict Atkins style diet could lose a stone in 3-4 weeks. From answers given to your previous question on this subject I'm sure you know that it is impossible to sustain and you would soon regain.

Oh and yes you can eat unlimited amounts of the allowed foods.

Beware that the side effects can be very nasty!!

what r the side effects?
bad breath for a start and it's been linked to heart disease and other such nastys.  I can't imagine it'd be good for your skin only eating meat and fat.  You need a balanced diet to be and to look healthy.
Also kidney problems are a common side effect

does anyone know why it affects the kidney's?
I would think that the kidneys are affected because of the protein overload that they have to discharge.

I did Atkins last year and lost 2 stones within 6 months.

No - you can not eat as much of the allowed food as you want. You have to eat in moderation but the more protein you eat, the less hungry you will become.

after I gave birth to my daughter last year I started Atkins but found it almost impossible to eat no carbs so I basically just reduced the amount of carbs, just had meet and veg for dinner and a wrap instead of a sandwich at lunch time it worked very well I lost a 1.5 stone in about three months yeah it took longer but I didnt have to worry about the side effects of taking in too much fat.
