Why the obsession with 'outing' past users???

I am intrigued to understand the level of bitchiness and vitriol that seems to linger towards past ABers.

I seem to have been accused of being another user and have been treated to the same sarcasm that she previously received.

I am reluctant to use the 'C' word but for occasional users of AB the responses received are really quite unpleasant, unnecessary and uncalled for.
