Hello all, hope some of you can help. Quite new to this site. I've always wanted a tattoo but like hundreds of people am really unsure of what to get. Its my 30th b'day coming up and i've vowed to myself to take the plunge and get one done by then. Any suggestions welcome....... I have a wife called Clare, daughter called Lydia and i support Newcastle United. Something to incorporate those 3 would be nice, but dont want anything too tacky and nothing that hugely stands out either. Are there any websites where you design your own and maybe then print off to give to your tattooist??

What about the Newcastle United emblem with your wife and daughters name in the banner at the bottom instead of Newcstle?!
My mum had one for her 50th b'day it was her star sign but the original type sign ones on her shoulder, looks really cool. My sister also had one on her shoulder a bit like a small tribal tattoo, it is best to design your own i reckon as it will be yours and no one will have anything the same. I wanted one a while a go but have now gone off the idea though i wont totally rule out having one done. Will def design my own though.

yeah, thanks for that fly258!!!!, i wouldn't have that if you paid me!!!

It may very well be a good idea to have a word with friends of yours who already have tattoos - try to find out their favourite local tattoo parlours and pay a visit to one or two of them that have been recommended.

Normally, you will find that the waiting room walls will be lined with designs, and there are usually also books full of designs that you may very well be able to adapt with the name of your wife and daughter.

It would be nice to design your own - most artists will be willing to help you with that - and of course be able to give you an idea of cost, how long it will take etc.  If you only want a smallish design, then you will probably be able to get away with one sitting.

But be warned - everyone says it is the outlining that hurts the most, in my experience it is the colouring in that hurts as it feels like you are being stabbed a million times in one place!!

Good luck to you though - I hope you can find a reputable, adaptable parlour - and I'd love to know how you get on.

football tattoos are tacky and could get you into rucks!!

How about a portrait tattoo? I think theres a tattooist up north somewhere that specialises in copying photographs, if i can find him in one of my links i will post the details

I'm intrigued toonmilo, did you manage to find a decent tattooist and a design you liked - and if so, have you had it done yet?!

u shouldnt have ur wifes name tattoed on  ur back in case u split up(no offence)u could have the football club thing with ur daughters name out side it
