I have decided to cut out sugar from my diet which will probably not be easy as it is in most of the foods we eat and drink. Does anyone have a good alternative that I can use in my morning coffee?

I use Splenda in my tea. A lot of people don't like it but after a while I found that I prefer the taste of Splenda to sugar.
Have you thought of drinking coffee without sugar at all. If you can get used to it you may like it.
I`ve never found anything that`s like sugar but (as above) Splenda is the nearest. There is a Splenda/sugar blend that is a mixture of both if you want to get used to the taste. Don`t bother with Stevia - it`s disgusting.

Strong black coffee without a sweetener!!! impossible.
You could reduce your sugar intake by gradually reducing by half a teaspoonful at a time. I went from 3 spoonfuls to zero over several months, and haven't used sugar since. But as you say, there's plenty of it in processed foods.
I agree oldnitro. I drink coffee with milk - no sugar, but for espresso I do take sugar or a sweetener (supermarket own make)
Oh no. Away with the artificial sweeteners. Try putting a small spoon of honey in.
If you suffer any problems with your stomach I would strongly recommend staying away from any artificial sweeteners; aspartame is an active ingredient in most sweeteners and diet products and I really started to react to them after prolonged usage.

One of my favourite natural products is Agave Nectar. Is honey-coloured and similar in texture but is just as sweet as sugar :)
I use Splenda as its saccharin based. The cheaper ones use aspartame which is supposed to be dangerous (cant remember why!)
Years ago, I read an article that claimed cutting out sugar was extremely easy to do. The argument being that unlike (for example) giving up smoking or snacking, it is a positive rather than a negative act. That is to say that each time you have a cup of tea or coffee without sugar, you are reinforcing the process.

At the end of the day you can say "I had 6 coffees without sugar", whereas saying "I didn't eat 6 sweets today" is meaningless.

I decided to test it (not because I wanted to give up, but purely out of curiosity) and sure enough, it took about 3 days for me to completely lose the desire for sugar in my drinks. On the other hand, I've spent (literally) thousands of pounds over the years on trying to stop smoking, and failed miserably.

If you want to cut out sugar, just cut it out - you'll be surprised how easy it is.
if i rem rightly your liver doesn't process the asparteme or something like that, it treats it like a poison similar to alcohol

i might be making that up, sure i read it somewhere

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame

there found that, not sure i understand it fully though.....
Try agarve syrup.. i use it and cant taste the difference.. and no aspartame and no sugar highs either.. its great.. you can get it at Tescos in the world food isle (with the free from stuff) good luck x
Actually you can get used to coffee without sugar. I always used to drink tea without sugar and still do and couldn't drink it any other way. I couldn't drink coffee without sugar though but after some time I started to cut down on the amount I was putting in the coffee until I cut it out altogether and now no sugar at all, not even on cereal in the morning. Amazing what you can get used to because the more you have the more you want and it also works the opposite, the less you have the less you want - it really can be that simple...just try it but slowly.
Cut out the sweetener...using them means you will still have a desire for sweet things.
I stopped using sugar and sweeteners about 6 months ago-haven't looked back. I never thought I could drink coffee without sugar-but now all I need is a dash of cream...it's lovely.
I cut out sugar in my tea and coffee years ago. My sister said "You do not need it" and the implied challenge made me do it. It was very difficult but I persevered and now I could not drink a cup of tea or coffee with sugar in it. Believe me, you will eventually get used to it.
