My boiler is making strange noises

For some time now my Ideal Elan gas boiler has been 'kettling'. It started two weeks after having a new gas valve fitted. Since then we have had Sentinel X200 put in the system, two treatments, and had the 'low' and 'high' thermostats changed. This has still failed to solve the problem of the 'kettling'. HELP!!!
