OK, I felt very sad and went out and brought the I can make you thin, Paul McKenna book as i had half a stone i was trying to shift and failing miserably.  Although I didn't find the book too helpful as it stated the obvious, I listened to the cd regularly as instructed and had lost 6 pounds within 2 weeks with no effort.  The best thing though has to be how much better I feel about myself, my body and life in general.  Has anyone else tried this book??  I was so sceptical before but now I love Paul!!!

My wife bought it and raved about it, but I was extremely sceptical. I gave it a go for a while and it only bloody works! I think the book is quite sensible but I'm not sure I entirely trust the idea of Mr McKenna fiddling around inside my mind...
I ate Pauls book too.. the pages played havoc with my functions but what a result!!
Hmm I moght go and have a look on amazon! Losing weight is so much more about the mind and emotional reasons for not being able to stop eating the wrong things, than it is about just eating right. If it was easy, we'd all be thin! sometimes my brain "allows" me to diet really really easily and successfully, but most of the time there are various blocks. Why? Why is it so hard? I would be interested to hear what he has to say!!
I have also heard rave reviews about this book. I have to buy it now to find out for myself. Does the book persuade you that you are not hungry? Or actually train you how to handle your cravings?
I read how to change your life in seven days which was bought for me as a xmas pressie, it really helped me to saee my life as it is and how to change it easily if iwanted this also came with a CD too which i listened to at night, i found a definite difference in myself and would recommend it to anyone......
Yes i went and bought the book yesterday. I'm half way through it and have listened to some of the CD. I found the CD quite difficult to listen to as i just couldn't imagine what he was asking me to imagine. I will keep listening to the CD as it might get easier. i started my new eating habits today and haven't eaten much at all as i haven't been very hungry but throughout the day i have wondered if i have been hungry or just wanting to eat so i didn't eat just incase. I think that is the hardest thing - finding out when you  really are hungry and when you just want to eat. I'll let you know how I'm getting on with it. I'm like you I only have about 5lbs to loose but can't seem to do it. I hope Paul will help.
whats the book called? and how much?

Eh, Mdoo?I don't understand. Was he an instructor?
Spurs22  - the  book is called 'I Can Make You Thin' by Paul McKenna. I bought mine from Tesco and it was about 6.98 or there abouts but the price on the back of the book is 9.99. I've been doing the eating plan and i am really thinking about whether i am really hungry or whether i'm just bored. I haven't been eating as much already. I hope it works for me.

Lost half a stone quite quickly - and then sort of went off track.  After reading these answers I am just going back to listen to the CD again.  Doll, don't try too hard to understand when listening to the CD, just relax - that is what you are meant to do.  I, like you, couldn't imagine the situations he suggests, but just let it wash over you.

I now have a problem.  I have also just bought the How to Change your Life book and CD as well - Do I listen to both CD's or will that totally mess my mind up!?

FP - the two CDs may be very similar. I found that the Paul McKenna book was also very good at making you feel better about yourself. Even if you were just feeling down i think the CD would help you. Let me know how the other CD goes.
I will do Doll, if I ever come out of my trance x
