I have to have three more weeks of radiotherapy, daily from Monday to Friday. I have been told that I need to buy myself some Factor 50 suntan/protector. It should not have any metals in it I have been told because of the radiotherapy I am receiving. Does anyone know please which brand I should buy?

Should have used spell-checker, apologies for all those typos. Meant to say 'no actual public transport'.
Hi All

Ena, have a great weekend with big sis. Hope the weather improves too, great news about the car passing - always a relief.
I too received a handwritten missive today and has kept me smiling all day.

Moyra keep happy, lots of love

Lynne ♥
Hi Moyra - hope you have had a good week/weekend and that the pain management is really helping you. Must say that your patch looks idyllic - very rural, just my cup of tea :) I live and work in town Mon - Fri but consider B S's to be my country weekend retreat - how posh is that? I know her neighbours and they wave at me as I drive down her street, know most of the shopkeepers in her town too. She lives in a small village just on the outskirts of Fordingbridge, which, although it is in the next county, is only 30 minutes drive from here.

Hello AB friends! I've had a busy day today. Went to choose my hymns and was told that the first one I chose wasn't actually a Catholic hymn. Still, I'm going to be allowed to have it. It's called Great is Thy Faithfulness. I then did a bit of dog sitting and had a cup of tea and cake with my lovely new neighbour. We talked till about nine o'clock, then I handed the dog back and came home. My cat is now missing, well he has probably gone off in a big huff and will return at about midnight by which time he thinks I'll be truly repentant for having entertained a D-O-G. :-)
Moyra

You have been busy and thankfully these days we are allowed music we might not have been allowed to in times past.

I am guinea pig sitting as my eldest daughter and family are away in Holland and then a week in Belgium.

Glad you are keeping occupied and so good to have friends to share your time with.

Just doing my night song in Chatter bank.

Sleep well

Lynne ♥
Moyra! How could you? Cats have felines too you know ;) How great to have a nice neiggbour, new or otherwise. Dog sitting - sounds like heaven to em, mind you I have been adopted by some great cats in the past (7 all together at one time) there was no room for me on the furniture, well there would not have been with 4 dogs too ;( All but one were rescued - bless them all.

Good for you chosing your hymns - I think it is a great idea. I am having Dear Lord and Father of Mankind - the next line is so appropriate for me, apposite even :)

Bet you sleep well after that good chat. I do hope so, lovely to hear from you. Sweet dreams Moyra.

Love Viv ♥

On Sunday 4th September 2011 from about 12.30pm to 3pm there will be a special folk music session for me. It will be held at the Hardwicke Arms 96 Ermine Way, Arrington, Royston, Hertfordshire SG8 0AH
01223 208802. It will be possible to donate to Breakthrough Breast Cancer there. I'm hoping there will be a good turnout of musicians and singers. I'm taking my recorders with me. I play by ear. Haven't played for a while. Take cotton wool to put in your ears! ;-) If you can come, please do. :-)
Moyra before Ena gets in with the quip about you playing the recorder with your ears. May I ask if I can send donation to that address made out to the charity?

Am sure you are more tuneful than you are letting on.

Love Lynne ♥
Moyra - as if I would (again!) I wish I could make it there, but sadly not at the present time :( However, I am with Mamya and would be happy to send a donation. I hope there is a good turn out for the afternoon. Any amount raised is a good effort Moyra and I am sure all the music will be enjoyed. I hope Mamya doesn't mention my deafness ;) Take care and look forward to a great folk session, Viv ♥

Oh hello Lynne and Viv! That is very kind of you. If you like, you can look on justgiving and seek me out as Moyra the Postie. It is my page where donations can be made to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. :-) Now off to St Ives on the guided bus with a friend. Must dash! :-) Moyra x
Moyra

Yes Ena is tone deaf but does a mean Satchmo impersonation. I have donated via Justgiving and though it is not much every little helps. I am sure it will be a great afternoon and a joyous one too. Stay strong.

Oh you are so kind! Thank you for your donations to Breakthrough Breast Cancer on my justgiving site. Your messages are so lovely I'm almost in tears. You are very good to me. :-) Moyra x
Moyra I have been in tears for the past few days too, because of people's love and care, they are the type of tears that cleanse us I feel.

Night night Lynne ♥
Moyra, just a thought - why not put details of the event on Chatterbank, there may be people in your area who could actually attend. Plus of course add a proper link to your Justgiving page. Please do.

Here is your link you can add to your invite to the music session.

I had put a mention of it on my site on justgiving. Do you think I should shift this topic on to Chatterbank now? It would effectively close this now seemingly daft question about suntan lotion. I'm about to dash out now to play whist! I may even win a pot of jam! Sometimes the top prize is a cauliflower! (health food!) One day you will be able to hear me play and then you can judge for yourselves whether my recorder is an instrument of torture! ;-)
Moyra when you have time then start a new thread and mention the fundraising too, as this thread is old it does not show in latest posts so only us few see it. We can still chat here too. Have a lovely evening.

Thanks for good advice Lynne. Will do. VIV! I don't know what to say! You are so kind. I will have to play my recorder at you down the phone to say thank you to you all! ;-)
Hi Moyra! Not at all. I had breast lump scare this year, so I am more than aware how every penny helps. I think you have done a fantastic job there, Moyra, and have exceeded your target - well done you, woohoo. I agree with Mamya and headwreck (yes, there has been talk about this behind your recorder-playing ears, lol) give this as much forum coverage as you possibly can. There are some lovely people on AB (present company excluded) and you may get a nice surprise - I really do hope so. In the meantime - do you know the last posting date to Australia for Christmas? I always miss it and have to send e-cards instead ;) Take care, love Viv ♥
