if someone had put in hours of hard work on a project, and you knew they'd made a mistake that they'd robably never notice, and would take hours to put right, would you tell them?

OH has FINALLY finished our hall & kitchen, half the wood work had been painted and he's just fininshed painting the rest...I'd been thinking for a couple of days that the colour didn't look right, got the paint tins out and now I know he's used 2 different, but similar colours!

He's rubbish with colours, can't tell them apart - should I tell him or live with it?

up to you, if your planning on selling up anytime soon, you'll want to get it sorted

he's only finished it so we can sell :(
then you better tell him, that would be spotted by a buyer!

It's uo to you but it would drive me mad everytime I saw it so I would put it right. But then i do all the decorating and luckily have pretty good colour perception. i should have a quiet word with him when he's in a good mood or secretly get the paint and brushes out when he's gone out and do it yourself.
But a buyer might not like either colour and just paint it a colour they like. I would leave it. I can never see the point of painting a house just to sell it. Most people move in and change everything.
We've just rented a place and sorry to say khbailey but that sort of thing we noticed and that was just for renting so I guess if you're buying then you're going to be even more aware of things like that. I don't know how much difference it would make if soomeone really liked the house but I do think it would be picked up on... Sorry :-/
Ahh I did'nt see you are selling. In that case I'd get it put right.
Id leave it be, chances are it wont be noticed by viewers
Seeing as I have only bought houses that need renovating, don't take any notice of me. I see past the decorating and only look at the general condition of a property.
What, you mean yellow and mauve ?

Tell the potential buyers that it's a feature.
I would notice it if I were renting because I wouldn't be prepared to decorate a house that wasn't mine.
Also new decoration makes me suspicious that it is covering up problems!! You can tell I have done some building in my time ;o)

CD, I think renting (where you have to live iwth it) is different from buying, where you have the option of changing it and probably will. Even jno jnr, who's terrificially picky about design, didn't care about the colour of the flat he and his gf have just bought: if he doesn't like it he'll change it.
can you do it discretely while hes out
great idea, rowanwitch

..."What have you been doing today, darling?"

"Oh nothing, nothing DON'T LEAN ON THAT WALL just a little cleaning and tidying..."
pmsl jno :)
great image...

Aggghh I agree with all of you...it's gloss and I'd have 2 v.young "helpers" so theres no chance of correcting it secretly.

Oh....while I was typing, he said that our little girl told him earlier that he'd used the wrong paint - she's cr@p at secrets!!
