just before xmas i bent down to pick something up, and i had a really bad pain in my right kneecap, a few days later i was walking and, my right knee more or less gave way underneath me and the pain was awful, and then it happened again a few days later, awful pain and walking was terrible. the pain was there on and off until january, when i was sent for an xray, and i thought this is ok now, just niggling pain, why am i here? but then i stepped off the pavement later and the most appalling pain shot through the knee cap and i could hardly walk for a week. i went to a physio and he said the quad muscle had shut down, and he gave me exercises to strengthen it, it has improved a bit but i still get pain, eg just getting up from a chair, or turning suddenly, how long does it take to heal this type of thing? i find swimming near on impossible also.
