Hi, just wondering if anyone has tried this in their living room. I am looking to just have a trough built round the perimeter of the wall just below this ceiling - which will conceal the light but add a great effect. With just the trough and a few lamps in the room does anyone know if that will be bright enough or will i need a centre celing "main light"? The room id 18x12

thanks in advance

loads of possible problems with this idea, what are you thinking of using as a light source, what is the material you are going to make the "trough" out of how close to the ceiling are you planing to go. Have you considered maintenance because sooner or later the lamps will fail.
we've got this sort of lighting in the office where I work - the lighting effect is good - but I can't tell you how maintenance and bulb-changing works out, we've only been in there two weeks.
