Yes.

Help me, my husband has had clinical depression for 17 years. He saw his mum being beaten up by her husband before she died. His sister was raped by his brother and his other sister is a heroin user? He has been getting help for about 5 years but no-one seems to be able to help him. It is a living hell
I would suggest you seek professional help rather than posting on a random website.
Question Author
don't you think we have done that already. There is no help out there
Question Author
Don't tell me you are one of these people who says give yourself a shake to depressed people and your life is perfect
There will be more than talking to a random bunch of people with no medical experience. What is it he needs help with?
Where did I say that?
this is usually private but can be done thro' NH in some circumstances if recommended by GP & consultant.

Also it's not a random website. People on here give really good answers and they know things that I might not. What is your problem. I bet you also think it's wrong to talk about sexual abuse
Question Author
Just people I have come across in the past few years have very narrow minds. As I said, he has been getting medical help for 17 years and no-one seems to know what to do
" I bet you also think it's wrong to talk about sexual abuse "
and where did I say that?

Jeez, no wonder no one wants to help you with that attitude.
Question Author
Thanks tamborine, I didn't know there was one of these in Glasgow. That's the kind of help I am talking about anotherview. Not smart comments
Question Author
Come and live my life and you'll know why I have this attitude to people like you
It is asking a lot of strangers to relate to and offer a coping strategy for somebody with clinical depression for the last 17 years with issues relating to domestic violence, incest and drug abuse. These are only the issues we know about, there are far better places to go for advice, support groups etc, try S.A.N.E or The Campaign Against Living Miserably.
Sadly, I think this is a wind up, if not, the information is above, if so, then the information you need is above.
People like me?! I was suggesting you looked for professional help. Next thing, you have a go at me. What do you mean people like me?
would these people be of any help to you, they may be able to offer good advice

Carrie....do you think that you might need some help? Dealing with people like your husband must get you down. Maybe if you got some councilling you might be able to deal with it better xxx
I agree with ummmm, you obviously are dealing with a lot of issues, and I would also suggest you get some help/support for yourself.
Question Author
I am getting counselling. I just don't think people should be so nasty. I am only asking for help. I dont need people like another view being like that. Of course we have asked for help medically. We are at our wits end. My husband has taken at least 20 overdoses in the last year and tried to self harm by cutting not his wrists but his face
Tell your GP of the Glasgow site - he can sort it for you. AAnon will give you support - they're in yellow pages. AA have branches for family support, ie kids etc. This affects the wider family.
