Definitely! There are probably far less people who actually have swine flu than the numbers spouted by the media suggest. As the health services are no longer confirming the condition by blood tests it would be really easy to claim you have the infection just to get time off work.
No I don't think it is media driven.

daffy....I disagree...the could be more....who knows...as you say the diagnosis is never confirmed by blood tests, so we will never know

Prediction of 65,000 deaths.

Vaccine not yet available

UK is a filthy place.....few people wash their hands after going to the toilet and toilets in cafe's are filthy compared to their European counter parts, by and large. This is a reflection on the people who use the toilets rather than the cafes themselves.

The media is giving you the facts as they see it and best scenario for the HIN1, but if it mutates as respiratory viruses often do, then we have a whole new "ball game" which the vaccine being tested at the moment would have no effect.

Don't panic, take it seriously, don't blame the media and tighten up on mediocre hygiene.
Squad is that the reason why the West Midlands had the highest number of cases?
rov...LOL....you are trouble making....LOL
Personally I think its all been hyped up so that the W.H.O. can test which countries are capable of controlling a pandemic . Lets face it how many countries have ever tested the measures they have in place to deal with a major epedemic. they are all on paper and have never been tested.
in the supermarket yesterday some young ( ish ) male sneezed did he cover his mouth NO so all the cheese will have his germs on the packet.
did i buy any cheese NO stayed well clear of that part of the supermarket.

Dr Flith I know. I was having a girrafe hence the lol
Dr. Filth.....it seems that they do.

4get....nobody knows as we have very little experience of H1N1 variant.
sqad, have you upset Bobbisox ?
I would think if you recover from the present strain of swine flu you would have the antibodies in your system to resist further attacks however if it mutates ..........................?????
NoK.....I like bobbisox (Joy) in fact I held her hand whilst introducing her to the pitfalls of AB and steered her through the choppy waters of these perilous quarters, but she has decided herself how to play her hand.
I was very poorly for 2 weeks. Do you think I had swine flu?

Sqad......she's a nutter..!!
ummmm...I am more interested in our early morning sex-life, than your health LOL

"Nutter?".....she is not alone......believe me.
she bites at the silliest of comments and thinks the world is against her.unfortunately if he wants to drown in her own sorrow i feel the need to supply some water.
Yes a media panic - in any given year up to 22,000 people die because of flu the vast majority have under lying symptoms.

This is another virus that the majority do not have an immunity against but the vast majority will survive.

Let us not for get that the Daily Mail swore against the MMR vacine on one totaly discredited medical report and now we have a measels epidemic. Reported in the press? Not often.

The truth is out there - look for it because the media ain't gonna tell you.

well they say you cant catch same cold twice just wondered if this was the same
the influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 killed more people than the Great War
