I broke my ankle last May and still have a lot of pain in it, however next Tuesday I am booked for a private gym - will it be okay for me to run on it.

Conne i wouldnt risk it,but try a support bandage if needs be,why not try walking first on the treadmill!!
If you are in pain, I would say don't even attempt to run on it or do any impact.

I tend to get people recovering from ankle injuries to do some strengthening work on it, like using a wobble board, disc or Bosu.

Are you having Physio?
you shouldn't really be having 'a lot of pain' nine months down the line- maybe somethings not quite right - would have it checked out before putting any strain on it cos without stating the obvious, pain is natures way of telling us not to use it.
30y daughter did same last May & had pins inserted in ankle & plate in lower leg. She's up & about but not enuf strength in ankle for clutch in manual car - so uses my automatic instead. Her ankle works okay otherwise.

Think your ankle needs re-assessment before you act too energetically on it.

thanks for your answers - yes I did have physio but hospital in the beginning when it happened wanted to put a boot on it but since I had broken my arm I could not manage it with one arm so did not have the boot fitted.
Ankles are notorious for taking ages to recover, afterall, they carry alot of weight.
