if youre a man then it means youre sniffing

if youre a woman it means you have a fever, ache all over and have no energy whatsoever, together with funning nose etc.
Sore throat, headache and every muscle beginning to ache and generally feeling really ill. Much worse than cold symptoms. Also, coming over really hot!

then hubby is right...........he does have flu.........how long does it last, this is 6 days now....
I would think at 6 days thats pretty almost over, have you taken his temperature? it may be another type of fever?

I once thought I had flu and it was scarlet fever, scary as hell.
Should be on its way out now but it can be quite debilitating
and some people take a few weeks too feel completely better (better not tell him that ! :-)

hes as weak as a kitten, no energy, but he is eating today, very cold then boiling hot, aches all over...in bed most of the time...
they say "feed a cold, starve a fever" if he is able to eat its a good sign, plenty of hot soups n stuff especially chicken soup and its not an old wives tale, it really does help
I understand chicken soup is good for you when you're ill but does it have to be just chicken or can it be chicken and vegetable or chicken noodle soup etc?

no worries eash, hope you feel better soon..x
I've only had the flu once - I couldn't get out of bed without my legs buckling; I had a fever; couldn't eat and had a wracking cough. Truly horrid.

I've had lots of heavy colds where I've felt quite ill, but that is nothing like flu
I get the flu vac thankfully and so won't get it unless I'm unlucky to get another strain of it. Once I did have it and sfter being really fluey for 2 weeks I wasn't much better and I had a complication of pleurisy . Your poor hubby will feel weak still at only 6 days and each person takes their own time so you'll be pampering him a bit longer yet . Have you had a vac hun , or are you likey to be laid low next ?
All the best to you and your hubby x
Proper flu is awful, just knocks you completely for six!

Make sure he has lots of fluids available and simple but nutritious food like soup.

If he can get up then a nice shower once or twice a day and change of bed wear each time especially if he has a fever and is sweating a lot. Gives a chance to air the bed and freshen up or change the bedclothes as well.

Cool and soothe sheets are lovely if he has a fever as they keep you head nice and cool.

Those breathe right strips are also great if he has cold like symptoms in his nose as well as is Vics vapour rub.

Hope he feels better soon!
I want jen to look after me when I'm not well :-)
