Does anyone have any wonder cures for pre menstrual syndrome or have been prescribed something which has worked from their gp?
I am 45 and have had it for 10 years or so but it has got much much worse. From day 17 onwards symptoms include bloating, joint pain, headaches, breast tenderness, irritability, mood swings and insomnia.I am guessing this has got worse due to hormone levels dropping due to age.I have been down the usual route of B6, eve primrose, agnus castus.
Thanks so much for any advice.

I get it too Gilly and have tried the same remedies as you. Nothing really works. I don't get the symptoms you get, except for sore breasts and I become quite depressed and tearful or very aggressive.

I don't think there are any remedies yet, except perhaps hormone tablets, which cause problems too.
have you had a look at the homeopathic remedies available ?
Boots do a range and have a booklet in their shops which describes symptoms.
There are different remedies, depending on your symptoms and you pick the one that seems to fit you best.
You certainly wouldn't be doing yourself any harm by trying them.
The other thing I found helpful was never to let myself get hungry at that time....don't eat more, just spread out the food over the day .
Hope something works for you as it is utterly miserable.
Hi Gilly have a read through this, it may help.

I find that excersise helps me when i'm feeling like that, even if it's just a brisk walk.
Have you spoken to your Dr regarding the effect it's having on your life?
