Hi looking for advice. I feel tired all the time!

It takes me 40 minutes to get out of bed in morning i work in an office and i just feel so low all the time.

just looking for any tips or the right kind of food to eat to try and make me feel bit more awake!

i walk 10-15 minutes to work and also do that walk at lunchtime so i think im getting a reasonable amount of exercise?

please help!
p.s if anyone thinks it might be diet related i am vegeterian.

Do you go to bed at a reasonable time? And at the same time every night? Your body needs routine.

I bet you're not making yourself out of breath when you do your exercise - you should maybe try something like swimming and maybe try for more than 30 mins a day.

I would just avoid greasy foods that make you feel sluggish and try healthy fresh foods.

If its becoming a major issue perhaps you should consult your doctor as it could be due to an underlying problem.

Went to the doctor and asked if i had diabetes cause i heard that can make you very tired but might go back and see if it could be something else.
i try to go to bed between 11-12 and i wake up at 7 so i think thats quite well routined?
I try to have at least 8 hours sleep, last week I got 8 and a half hours every night and I felt great during the day! I know if I get less than 8 I struggle.
Are you happy enough with life when I had stress related depression I was tired all the time and had no motivation

no not really stressed or anything, my job isvery tiring but not really finding it stressful. it's a vicious cycle for me in that my job is tiring and dont have energy to go for a run when i get home but i know in long run that would give me more energy!!
I know how you feel. I feel so tired sometimes but go swimming 3 times a week straight after work. Although you feel like you don't have the energy once you're there you manage fine and I come out feeling better than when I went in. Having a friend to go with makes you go too as you don't want to make excuses!

As well as diabetes, get your thyroid tested. If all results come back as being OK, get them done again in a few weeks just to make sure. Dont be fobbed off - your body is talking to you - listen!

You may be anaemic as the amount of iron in a vegetarian diet is lower than in a diet with red meat. Your doctor can arrange a test for this and suggest adjustments to your diet if necessary.
If you're worried about not getting enough iron in your diet, try Spatone sachets from Boots.
If you go to your GP and mention tiredness and being a vegetarian, s/he should check your B12 levels. I'm a veggie and was having similar symptoms to yourself - turns out my B12 levels were dramatically low (120 when they should have been in the 2000 level, sorry no idea of the units here). Further investigation revealed that I have pernicious anaemia and now have regular injections of B12 and no tiredness now !

You can buy B12 tablets but you really need to get your GP to check your levels properly, to determine an appropriate solution for you.

Of course, it may be that you are anaemic (lacking iron in your diet) but that is easily obtained from green vegetables, eggs and other foods, or you could take a supplement.
If your a pure veggie and feeling tired then maybe you need to alter your diet a little and add a little meat, just to test how it affects you.

If that's unedible for you then take more protein thru eggs, fish and cheese.

You dont say how old you are? Could you be in a bad habit?
