osteoarthoritous ...

... was that a kind of dinosaur ?
Osteoarthritis I think they mean Jane

My ex-husband had the 'gold' injection in one knee and said it worked almost instantly, lasts for years, well worth it - the NHS dont offer this often as its really expensive.

Go for it and good luck.

Question Author
is any one out there who has had this injection and it did not work for them
Depends ..what suits one doesn't suit another. My Mum in law had gold injections for osteoarthritis and had bad side effects.
Have you asked what type of injections they are giving you ?
It could be cortisone or it could be viscosupplementation which a gel stuff they inject in to restore some of the lubrication lost by the damaged cartilage. They give this once a week for about three weeks depending how you respond and it lasts six months .Then you can have repeat shots of it .
Cortisone works but wears off after a while .They usually last about three or four months .But It's a steroid so you won't get regular shots of that and the pain relief from it lessens over time .
