Bum Spots!

Could you please suggest remedies for spots on the bum other than Sudocream, Fucidin H cream and just general exfoliating! My friend is 24 and she has had this issue for a long time - since early teens, and has tried everything!

In the summer when she's on the beach it gets better with the sun and salt water, but then when stuck in London it gets worse because it's hotter and obviously we sweat more, she can't get her bum out all the time!

Talcam Powder after bathing or showering
Your friend hey :-)

I knew this would happen. haha. YES my friend. She wrote the question initially in first person but I made her change it - bad idea! You're not convinced are you?! Bum spots aren't so embarrassing anyway... !
lol, Nope stand up and be proud :-)
Would exfoliating after baths and showers help?
Maybe the answer is partly in the question ...

The fact that it's better in the summer might suggest that it helps to let a bit of fresh air circulate around your friend's botty.

Has she tried light skirts, and smaller (or no!) underwear?
This may sound odd, but has she tried changing her washing powder?

The only time I ever suffered with them was when I used some travel wash when I went away on holiday. Came back, changed the powder and they were gone.

Was also wondering if she should changer her underwear, the fabric I mean! Perhaps she is wearing a fabric against her skin that doesn't let it breath - alternatively, go commando, it is so liberating!

After? I know that she does it in the shower, would after make a difference?

My suggestion was that perhaps she was aggravating it too much, ... or that maybe she should try alternative medicines or therapies. Rather like when you have spots in certain places on your face and where they are is an indicator of the cause (hormones, pollution, stress, some sort of deficiency), maybe these are a similar telling sign.

I know that they really bother her, and that she is very self-concious of them...!

I would be very pleased to report back to her the commando suggestion! And thank you for the detergent advice. I might encourage her to use the ecover lavander non-bio as I have sensitive skin and it works perfectly for me!

They are a sort of acne I believe (and incidently her face is blemish free).
My face is blemish free too, that is why I thought of similar things to what I do!

The other thing that may help is sleeping au naturelle (spelling?) or with cotton on her bum. Stear clear of manmade stuff. Let the air get to it, and when it is sunny go and lay outside with a thong on!
Why is she self conscious? How many people get to see her bum?
Question Author
Her boyfriend, although he wouldn't even notice, and I think that just generally it gets her down.
Fresh air seems to be the concensus. Do they have a secluded garden? In this current sunny weather she could maybe get a little "sunshine therapy".

I linked her to this and this was the reply:
Nice one dude! They're all really good. Can you say that I have tried commando or thongs at least (it only exists within my knicker line) but unless I'm wearing cotton trousers, jeans and stuff just irritate it more? I will try the sleeping commando thing though! I also always use talcum powder after a shower, and exfoliate, but not everyday as I don't want to rub it raw!
Your friend wasn't sleeping commando already?

Bed clothes are a bit awful, arent they?

We may be getting to the bottom of the problem now!
What kind of bodywash does she use? The anti bacterial ones could help like Sanex or Carex.

She could try a medicated talc, avoid anything too perfumed down there.
ah ha! that may be very telling that it is only insider her nicker line!! I would think it was in irritation of some kind rather than spots in the acne sense of the word. Loose clothing and no knickers for a while until it clears up.
If it doesnt clear up from the ideas might it be hormonal? Is she on the pill, any way she would go to doc and ask?
Hi,I think the best way to get rid of it is natural bath treatment or some masks that you can rub into your skin. For some good ideas about how to make it by yourself at home go and download ready beauty skin guide, here ;
