I'm 50 year old a female that had a stroke about a 1yr and half ago. The stroke was on my right side of the brain so my left side was paralyzed. I've regain stength on my left side and am now walking and mobile. However, about once a week or so, I get twitching on my left side. The twitching is usually on my arm but sometimes it happens on my leg too. I feel it coming when I'm feeling a bit weaker on the left side. The doctors have called it a "focal seizure" and recommended I take medication for it. I'm jus wondering if it really is a focal seizure or is it just muscle spasm? When I was visiting Florida for a month last month, the twitching did not happen at all so it makes me wonder if it really is a seizure. Has anyone experienced this? I would hate to take another medication and lose my license for a wrong diagnosis.
