Hi, I have suffered with back pain for a at least 10 years now which has always been sporadic but for the past 6 months I have been suffering alot more than ususal, my neck is very stiff and my lower back is in agony, it keeps "giving out" if that makes sense, the pain is now in my legs and feet aswell, they constantly ache and in the mornings I can hardly put one foot in front of the other, I am 31 years old and feel about 71!! I have had a few sessions with a chiropractor but this seems to make it even worse. Does anyone else suffer with these symtoms and if so how do you alleviate them as it is starting to make my life really suffer, thanks x

Hi dmj - Have you tried the tens machines for pain relief? Lloyds pharmacy are selling them at the moment for 15.00
I bought one just recently & I have found it to help me for my pain in the neck. If however you have any heart problems you can't use this machine. If you go on the Lloyds website - www.lloydspharmacy.com you will get all the info. Do read all the information!
dmj - Forgot to say, when you get on the website click on the advert window.
i have had same sort of thing on and off for a couple of years, the simplist little movement can trigger my back going into a spasm like state which is agony but luckily only lasts a few minutes, afterwards it can take 15 seconds to 15 mins before i can put my left foot flat on the floor and walk on it again, in the mornings i used to take 20 mins just to ease myself out of bed,and could only put trousers ect on by using a coat hanger to hold them as i could not bend down at all,and if i droped anything on the floor before midday it had to stay there as it might just as well been on the moon for all the chance i had of picking it up, but mine has been helped an enormous amount and reduced greatly in frequency since we bought a tempur bed if you dont already have one go to a shop and try one, they are strange at first but i can not recommend them highly enough, expensive but worth every penny
Backs are seriously complex, and affect every part of the body by being even slightly out of place.

A displaced vertebrae will throw your balance off, which puts strain on your knees and legs, so causes pain there - I know, I'm recovering from a slipped disc.

I would see your GP and get referred for an x-ray so they can see what needs treatment, and get you some relief, and some seriously stong pain killers which will break the circle of tension - pain - tension - more pain.

Don't suffer in hope, get loked at, and get the right treatment.
